A Wedding Photographers Guide
Today our blog and small guide features Abi and Richard's special day at Alpheton.
Venue: Alpheton Hall Barn.
Website: https://alpheton-hall-barns.co.uk
Tel: 01284 830200
Alpheton Hall Barns are part of an ancient settlement comprising Alpheton Hall and the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Alpheton, all set in meadows and woodland at the end of a no through road. The venue is owned by Carol and Nic Willcocks, your hosts for the day.
Abi and Richard booked our Gold package, which features the two of us for the day, our drone, open pod photo booth and they also added our chocoholic sweet cart package.
Like the majority of weddings in 2022, it was warm and sunny. The venue was a terrific setting for their special day, plenty of outside spaces to enjoy the summer weather.
Our drone shot featuring the beautiful Suffolk countryside as a backdrop.
St Peter & St Paul's Church, right next door to the barn.
Bridal Prep.
We always emphasis to our couples it is their day. Abi didn't want bridal prep and that was fine with us.
So here's a picture of the groom and groomsmen waiting patiently for the bride to arrive.
The first glimpse we got of Abi was driving up the tree lined entrance to the venue with her proud Dad escorting her.
The ceremony.
Abi and Richard opted to have their ceremony in the ceremony barn. However there is a lovely outside space, in the woods, if you want to have an outside ceremony, as an alternative, at Alpheton.
At this wedding we were surprised to see a familiar face. The bridesmaid on the left is Serena Grant who is a Vocalist, Guitarist and DJ who we have worked with previously.

From time to time it is great for wedding professionals to attend a wedding as a guest rather than a supplier. Matt did that once last year, a good friend of his got married at Haughley Barns. He was a little "squiffy" by the end of the wedding breakfast, he says.
After the Ceremony
Some alone time to let it all sink in, before facing the confetti.
Got to love the confetti shot.
After the Ceremony. It's Pimms o'clock and then some formal photos. Good times.
After some time socialising with their guests we took Abi and Richard for a tour of the venue's grounds.
We always give you the chance to have some alone time.
Time for the Wedding Breakfast.
Bride's dad acting as MC.
At that time of the year we do love a "golden hour" shot.
This shot made it to the cover of the Suffolk Ceremony magazine.
Cake cutting.
And then a twilight shot.
Serena just couldn't resist having having a song with the live band.
The bride and bridesmaid having some wacky photos in the photo booth.
... and a sweet treat from the sweet cart to keep the energy up for all that dancing.
What a special day for Abi and Richard.
