Philip & Chloe: Wedding at The Maids Head Hotel, Norfolk

Updated: 1 day ago

A wedding Photographers Guide

Today our blog and small guide features Philip & Chloe's Wedding,

Venue: Maids Head, Norwich, Norfolk

We love to go a journey with our couples from that initial enquiry, to the big day itself and beyond until we deliver their photographs.

You can't go to Norwich and not have a classic shot on Elm Hill, which is close by to the Maids Head. What a fantastic day we had.

A quick guide to the venue!

The Maids Head is situated in Norwich's Tombland, very close to the Cathedral. It's great for John to go back to Norwich, his old stomping ground, where he lived and worked for over 20 years, and started his photography career.

The Maids Head Hotel is known to be the oldest hotel in the UK, dating back over 800 years. It has benefitted from major investment in recent years and has won a number of awards.

The Minstrel Suite - all set and ready for the Wedding Breakfast.

Awaiting the arrival of the Bride

We always like to capture the "nervous" groom awaiting his bride. The groomsmen are always there to help!?

Here She comes, proud Dad by her side!

The ceremony and reception were all held at the Maids Head. The ceremony was held in the Oak Suite. The ceremony was conducted by Norfolk Registrars.

First kiss, well worth the wait.

After the ceremony

Afterwards drinks and canopies were served.

While their guests were having a drink Chloe and Phil had some "couple shots" with us. We always give couples the opportunity to have 15/20 minutes on their own with us. It allows them to let everything sink in and we have some fun - we make sure there is natural laughter and smiles in our pictures!

This also gave Phil the chance to have a little drive around the City with his bride in the special car hired for the day.

I wonder what she whispered in his ear?

We love capturing these natural laughs using our 'unposed prompts'

Always like to have group shot of everyone who's at the wedding - a lasting memory for years to come.

The wedding breakfast

After that the cake was cut, first dance and then the party really got started!

That Classic Elm Hill shot.

If you're contacting the venue, don't forget to tell them where you saw it.
